Take a Moment
Take a moment. Marvel at your life:
at the grief that softened you, at the heartache that widened you, at the suffering that strengthened you.
Despite everything, you still grow. Be proud of this.
There are so many gifts found throughout your life, even in the moments that break you, weaken you and challenge you.
We can't just blame our past for the bad, we have to blame it for all the good, too.
We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves stronger.
I’m proud of my journey.
These past (almost) 2 years of postpartum, navigating motherhood and everything that comes with that, I’ve shown up.
These past few months of navigating loss, I’ve taken the time to just be, to work on myself in different ways and continue to share the journey after miscarriage.
I’ve realized that there isn’t a lot of stories of the after.
I hope when you see my after, you don’t give up.
I still cry tears.
I also laugh.
It’s all bittersweet.
These two pictures tell a story. Left: Newly postpartum. Carrying Faye, delivering her and feeding her. My body did that. Insane.
The picture on the right. Now. Today. Resilient. Fighting. And showing up.
I’m sure you could give me a list of reasons why it’s not the right time, but I can promise you, there isn’t ever a great time.
I think my hard and challenging times would be way worse if I didn’t have these tools, community and habits.
